Five young Ottawa entertainers will take part in the all-night "Telympathon" on WIBW-TV Saturday evening, which is being staged to raise funds to send athletes to the 1956 Olympic games: Timmy Woods, F.D. Huls and Davy Cox, a vocal trio; Jack Day, singer; and Elmer Benson, singer and musician.

Walter William Butler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter L. Butler, has been notified that he is one of the 7,500 high school seniors to reach the finals in the National Merit Scholarship competition.

Teenage vandals threw a small black powder bomb into the Brunswick Recreation Center, 121 N. Main St., last night but the bomb did little damage.

Business and residential growth of Ottawa is indicated by the continued demand for additional telephone service. At the start of last year we had 4,735 telephones in service here," J. T. Morrisey, manager, said. Now we have 4,852 for a net gain of 117 during 1956.
