OHS Class of '58
Dr. Bud Gollier
Dr. Bud Gollier (OHS class of 1958) has written a book entitled "LIKE HIS TEACHER", which is about his fathers medial practice in Ottawa. The book also covers Bud's practice, his stroke and subsequent hospitalization. This experience changed the way Bud practiced medicine. Bud's son, John, returned to Ottawa to take over Bud's practice when he retired a year ago. Last fall, the Ransom Memorial Hospital north campus (located at 9th and Main) was named the Gollier Wellness Center. If you are interested in buying a book, see the information below.

More than a memoir, this book is a family story that traces the changes in health care through three generations of small town family physicians. The changes in the doctor- patient relationship brought on by third party mandates and the specter of malpractice are followed along with Dr. Gollier's prescription for change in the final chapter.
Dr. Gollier is a retired family physician. He served as district councilor for the Kansas Medical Society and was recognized for his contribution to the promotion of rural medicine. His efforts preceded an increased emphasis on primary care in the curriculum of the University of Kansas
Medical School.
