"Ninth graders, numbering 131, received certificates of graduation today, marking their step from junior to senior high school.

The graduation exercises were held at 2 p.m. in senior high school auditorium. Henry A. Parker presented the certificates.

There were one hundred thirty-one (131) students who graduated from Ottawa Junior High in the spring of 1954 with the OHS Class of 1957. One hundred two (102) students graduated from Ottawa Senior High three years later n the OHS Class of 1957.
Of the one hundred thirty-one (131) students who graduated from Ottawa Junior High in 1954 ninety-one (91) of them went on and graduated from Ottawa Senior High in 1957, this was a drop of forty (40) students between 1954 and 1957.
Forty (40) students who graduated in 1954 either transferred to other schools, did not finish all their class work or dropped out of school in the three years between 1954 and 1957.
Between 1954 and 1957 there were eleven new students who entered the class and graduated with the class in 1957. They were Neil Blakeman, Patsy Cupp, Eva Ecord, Lucille Hinton, Gloria Huston, Elda Humrickhouse, Ron Jeffries, John Macdonald, Richard Saling, Dennis Smith and Jane Stewart.
The ninth grade graduating class then lost forty (40) students between 1954 and 1957 and gained eleven (11) students which brought the 1957 OHS graduating class to one-hundred two (102) students.
