This photograph with a short caption appeared in The Ottawa Herald in early November of 1949. The story with the photograph listed the players in the photo and said: "The Second Half Championship of the Lions Midget League will be decided in a game at 4:30 today on the hockey field at Ottawa U. The North team, pictured here tied West, first half champs, in the second half and the two teams squared off for the second-half title." (end)
The North team was basically a Lincoln Grade School team and the West team would have been mostly a Eugene Field team.
