Front Page Story
Approximately 100 seniors plan to go on the annual senior trip May 27 to Kansas City where they will spend the day.
The seniors will travel in Greyhound buses to Swope Park where there is a picnic area reserved. A lunch of fried chicken, baked beans, potato chips, a relish plate, ice tea, and ice cream bars, will be served. The food committee consists of Marie Keelin, chairman, Carol Day, Iva Kay Jones, Patsy Cupp, and Elmore Going.
During the course of the day the group may go downtown or tour the park. In the evening sandwiches, potato chips, and ice tea will be served.
Fairyland Park will be the destiny of the seniors in the evening. About 9:30 or 10 p.m. the group will board the buses for the return trip. Sponsors for the trip will be C. K. Smith, Mrs. Joel Nordeen, Mrs. T. K. Keelin, and Mrs. Dan Wilson. (End)

Picnic Time in the Park

This photograph of nine members of the OHS Class of 1957 was taken by Janice Yokum on the Senior Trip. This was probably taken at Swope Park and it must be lunch time. The two buses in the background look like the buses that belonged to Glenn Ainsworth. The Ainsworth buses took us on many high school related trips. Glenn Ainsworth's son, Harley, was a member of the OHS Class of 1956. Harley became a school bus contractor for Unified School District 290 Ottawa in 1992.
